Our Bioinformatics Business

Recently, Tiger Team Consulting has been cultivating a specialized practice in the area of bioinformatics. Led by founder Mike Ryan, the group is focused on providing software and services that address the pressing needs of biological researchers.

The explosive growth of genetic sequence information and the large datasets produced for analysis pose a significant challenge to the research community. Tiger Team's experience with development of complex, high-volume production systems is particularly applicable to bioinformatics. TTC’s Bioinformatics group currently has projects with National Cancer Institute (NCI) developing web applications for microarray analysis and with US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) implementing a genetic sequence search engine.

Tiger Team is committed to expanding its bioinformatics practice, as well as to increasing the visibility and accessibility of widely-useful research tools. To that end, TTC has made publicly available its first set of utilities, SpliceCenter. These tools address the complexity created by alternative splice variants and have broad applicability to microarray, qRT-PCR, or siRNA-based research.
